Overall, Eddie just does not understand the truth of Christ and who he is.
I have a problem with Religion. Knowing Christ is about a relationship; much like the relationship a child should have with his parent.  So, we can go boldly before the throne of God, but only in Christ. We are found acceptable to God as long as we have Christ in us.  Christ imparts his rightiousness to us when we accept him as our God and Lord.
We must obey God's commandments but for those who serve him, they are already forgiven if they do sin.
As the apostle Paul said (paraphrase), "does that mean that I have a license to sin?? God forbid!"
So we must let our lives shine and be representative of who we say we serve but the church in America is mostly religious like the Pharasees. They understand the book but have made it a tool of bondage instead of a tool of liberty.
Now, in regards to the Bible, God gave that to us so that we may know his will and so that no one could deceive us.
He also gave it to us so that we could not decieve ourselves. We can easily lie to ourself and say God approves of our actions.
If we are carnal, then we will think that our deeds are approved of God. How can a man know his own heart? It is decieptfully wicked. Who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
So, it takes the spirit of God to show us the way but his Word is there to verify that we are in line with his will.
We can easily lie to ourself and be on the way to hell without the Bible. The bible was inspired by the spirit of God, but Eddie does not want to accept the things that God has commanded of us.  God's commandments are for our protection and happiness. If we follow God's will we will live happy. If we do not then the ways of the world will lead to destruction.

Example:
Promiscuous sex can lead to desease and or death.
Murder can lead to imprisionment or death.
Stealing can lead to imprisonment or retrobution from the offended party or his family.

God is simply trying to make sure that we all enjoy the life he has given us and the ten commandments are his way of ensuring that we all enjoy this life and the one to come.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I am not clear on the point you are making but I will respond to what I do know. Now, I am not speaking as though I am God but I do know my father. I have fellowshipped with him. It is an experience you will have once you commit to him. True Christians have an experience that we are telling you is real. It is not religion. But let's start from ground zero. First,  If you are an agnostic, unbeliever etc, you must first realize that your existance comes from somewhere and could not be an accident. If you believe that God created you then you must realize that he has a plan or purpose for your existence. If you believe that he is a person, with desire, emotion etc, then you must realize that he has a plan. If you believe that he is all powerful then you must understand that  he expects his will to be done. If his will is to be done then you must have assurance that he is going to share his will with you. You should have confidence that you know his will enough  so that if someone tries to tell you a different story, then you will know that they are lying. This is the purpose of the Bible to have a source that survives history unchanging so that God's children will all understand who their God is and what he wants. The Bible was written by God's servants but spoken and delivered to mankind from God himself. So, now it is our duty as seekers of truth  to identify the one true God. I think that this is easy because the one true God, who is worthy of all is a God who is defined first by Love. Just like I would die for my kids, so has he already done.  So it is easy to identify who he is. Mankind's challenge is to desire truth above all else. If you desire truth then you will easily find Christ and his will. Recognize that the bible was written by men but the words are from God.  So Eddie is wrong. Eddie also does not respect God; just listen to how he refers to God. Every other word is a curse word when he references God, yet he says he believes in God. Something is wrong with his walk if he can refer to god in such derogatory means. Would a kid brought up in a good home refer to his Dad in such a crude manner? No because he loves the one who has provided for him and who he knows loves him. Eddie does not know him else he would know who he is and he would love and respect him. Do you think that God is not capable of getting his servants to share his will to the world? Do you think that since man wrote the bible, it could not be from God? Why not? If I tell my daughter to tell my son to take a bath, does that mean that I did not say it because she is the one relaying the message? Example: Promiscuous sex can lead to desease and or death(could happen the first time/wear protection and ask questions) Murder can lead to imprisionment or death(eye for an eye/protecting yourself and love ones from harm) Stealing can lead to imprisonment or retrobution from the offended party or his family(from one point of view,the haves) did you not hear......eddie was breaking it down in a real way..... if there is a god then he/she would know everything about their child...that means you and me... What is your point? He does know us but you must understand that God has tried to share with you why the world is like it is right now and how you should deal with it. God knows us that is not the problem. Eddie should understand that most of God's human creation does not know him and he wants them to know him. He also wants them to understand why things are as they are right now. There is a reason and a perpose to the current state of the world. The reason we are living in such a hard world is because of sin. Sin separates us from God and if we are separated from him then we cannot enjoy the things that are good in the world because goodness comes from him.  God's plan is for us to be reconciled to him. If you do not think that this is true then you have a god who does not mind watching you live in agony. My God minds and plans to remove all things that offend and are harmful to him chosen.
