There are many times when reading the scriptures, we stop and pause.  We say, what in the world does that mean, and we continue on.  We never look back at those scriptures that cause us to pause and scratch our head.  I believe we do this because there is no logical explaination to those scriptures at the time.  We have no reference point in which to make a judgement.  This is because the bible stated way back in Daniel that the knowledge, or understanding of these prophecies are for an endtime generation.  Until this terminal generation, it was impossible to understand.  Daniel 12:4 states:

Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

I believe that because this is the end time generation, we are able to understand these scriptures, and one such difficult scripture to understand is Joel chapter 2.  Remember, we should take the scriptures literally, unless the text tells us otherwise.  The scriptue reads thus:

Joe 2:1

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for [it is] nigh at hand;

Joe 2:2

A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, [even] to the years of many generations.

Joe 2:3

A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land [is] as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

Joe 2:4

The appearance of them [is] as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.

Joe 2:5

Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

Joe 2:6

Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.

 Joe 2:7

They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

Joe 2:8

Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and [when] they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

Joe 2:9

They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

Joe 2:10

The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Joe 2:11

And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp [is] very great: for [he is] strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD [is] great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Here we see a people that never was, nor ever will be again.  Who could these people be?  It appears from the scriptures, that they never existed before, but they are a people.  It does not appear that they came out of the bottomless pit, and they are appearently at war with some one in Zion, unless they are the locust from Revelation 9, because they look like horses, just as the locust in Revelation 9.  However, this event appears to be taking place during Armageddon ("See NATW to learn about sign posts").

These people look like horses.  Now, either these are the Centaurs of Greek mythology, or something else.  I say they are something else, beause God has stated that they never existed before, and never will again.  We can deduce from this that God did not create them, because if he did, they would have existed in the past, or be a new creation, and we know that God finished the creation activity back in genesis.  If they are not angels, and the scriptures do not say they are, then what are they.  I personally believe that they may be the creation of our scientists, seeing that these creatures never existed before, and never will again.  It is possible that these beings are the creation of DARPA's super soldier program. See the article entitled $3 billion dollar super soldier program:

http://nextbigfuture.com/2008/07/3-billion-super-soldier-program-10.html

According to the article, the new soldiers will be able to heal faster, be stronger, and operate without sleeping for days.

"The drugs and genetic enhancements and some technology which gets applied would allow for regeneration, faster healing, muscle strength enhancement up to current olympic levels, endurance of an Alaskan sled dog, cognitive enhancement, operate without sleep for many days without performance degradation, the metabolic energy of twenty year old for a forty or fifty year old and immunity to pain"

Look at what these beings are able to do from Joel 2:9 :

It is highly plausible, that this is the fulfillment of Joel chapter 2, and the Lord's army shall fight against them Joel 2:11. Unless we read Joel 2:11 to say that this is the Lord's army, which I do not think it says.

As scripture is fulfilled, I guess we shall find out if this is the fulfillment of this scripture.
